Purchased from BBQ Outfitters a week before our annual Christmas party. Love the cast stainless grates and the sear station especially. Cooked ribs and chicken for 30 people for the party and everything turned out great. And cleanup was very easy. Big upgrade from my 18 year old previous grill.
BBQ Outfitters was very easy to work with and assembled it in no time.
Napoleon: Prestige 500 Freestanding Grill
After having a Viking for 20 Years we wanted a grill with exceptional heat distribution, infrared rotisserie and searing station. We researched and decided on the Napoleon 500, evenly heats and stays hot across the entire cooking surface, the rotisserie is slightly forward which is a plus as it evenly heats and does not burn during rotation. We are very satisfied and would buy this grill again. We would like to have a removable drip tray, this would be a positive addition to this grill at this price point.
It’s a great grill so far. Only three flaws I’ve noticed. And they should be addressed. First let me say it’s a great looking grill and there is plenty of space . The top rack is pretty interesting and useful , although it’s a bit flimsy for the price . Could have had a heavier gauge steel. The grill gets HOT in a snap which is great, Buuuuttt ….. the temperature control on my grill is always hot . Even on low I’m pushing 400. That’s an issue for me since I slow cook a lot. Lastly the biggest concern I have is that the grill vents all heat in front below the handle. Well let’s just say the handle gets a bit warm and I find that odd that a quality grill would be built like that . The vent should be moved to the rear if they are not going to vent the top. Overall it’s a keeper. Nothing is perfect these days . It’s not a deal breaker but beware it does get warm if you’re cooking hot.
